Christina Jenkins, MD

Venture Partner

Dr. Jenkins (“CJ”) is a Venture Partner at PVP, where she co-leads the firm’s investment strategy in the healthcare/life sciences vertical. CJ is focused on hardware-enabled platform companies that are transforming the way we diagnose, monitor, and treat health conditions.  She finds joy in working alongside those who are relentless in making health, better.

She has keen interest in underserved populations:  she is a National Advisor to Manatt Health, supporting organizations that seek to transform from within; she also leads early-stage investments targeting the health and well-being of women and the aging through Portfolia.

Previously, Dr. Jenkins was the founding CEO of OneCity Health Services, a subsidiary of NYC Health + Hospitals, the nation’s largest public hospital system.  There, she led a $1.2B effort to redesign the care delivery continuum and accelerate readiness for value-based payments (financial risk) for 1M lives, creating a 200-organization partnership and implementing tech-enabled care models in community and in-hospital settings.

She is a board member or observer of PVP portfolio companies Xandar Kardian, FIGUR8, and Biotia.  She is board member of Help at Home and an advisory board member of Independence Health Group (parent of Independence Blue Cross and AmeriHealth Caritas).  Previously, she was a Bloomberg appointee to the board of NYC Health + Hospitals and Chair of its Quality Committee, using financial, operational, and outcomes performance data to engage C-level leadership in its mission to deliver sustainable high-quality care.

Dr. Jenkins earned her B.S. in Industrial Management at Purdue University and her M.D. from Northwestern University, where she was Class President.  She was a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, where she also completed her residency.  She is a member of the Kauffman Fellows, a global leadership program in venture capital.  Prior to medical school, Dr. Jenkins was a financial analyst (FMP) for GE Healthcare.
